Houston Chronicle, Sept. 28 (front page)http://www.chron.com/disp/story.mpl/front/4220275.html Risk is higher in Houston area than in other big cities, new report says A group of researchers including scientists from the University of Texas Medical Branch in Galveston called on Texas policymakers Wednesday to act quickly to reduce the levels of four air toxics plaguing the greater Houston region. The group announced findings of a 15-month study examining pollutants most dangerous to human health. Houston has concentrations of many of these pollutants that are many times higher than Los Angeles, the most similar city, researchers said.
