GALVESTON, Texas - Senior Services at the University of Texas Medical Branch at Galveston is hosting a free presentation in La Marque and Galveston in May. Bob Scott, senior consultant in Organizational Development, Training and Recognition at UTMB, will discuss emotional intelligence. Those who attend will learn how to prevent or minimize "emotional hijacks," which Scott describes as "those times when smart people look stupid."
The presentation is part of the Circle of Life lecture series for seniors and family members.
The presentations are scheduled from noon to 1 p.m. For those who register, a box lunch will be served at 11:30 a.m. There is no charge for lunch. Here is the schedule:
Wednesday, May 9, at McKinney Memorial United Methodist Church, 1607 Nashby, in La Marque
Wednesday, May 16, at First Presbyterian Church, 1903 Church St., in Galveston.
