UTMB will receive a $1.48 million grant to help build a prevention workforce in medically underserved areas. The five-year grant comes from the Health Resources and Services Administration of the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services. Laura Rudkin, professor and interim chairwoman of the UTMB department of preventive medicine and community health, will direct the project, “Primary Care Plus: Preparing a Prevention Workforce to Promote Population Health.” The news also appears in the Houston Chronicle, Guidry News and the Galveston Daily News.
