In this week’s column by UTMB’s Dr. Victor S. Sierpina: Exercise plays many important roles related to cancer. For cancer prevention, as little as 30 minutes of exercise five times a week can reduce the risk of cancer, most convincingly for cancers of the breast and colon. To help guide UTMB Cancer Center patients, the new integrative oncology interdisciplinary team will include Julie Dial, a masters trained exercise physiologist.
