Narrative:
As required by statute, the chief administrative officer of The University of Texas Medical Branch at Galveston (UTMB) is the President, selected by The University of Texas System Board of Regents (1). The UTMB President is responsible for the leadership and general management of the university within the policies of the UT System Board of Regents, and the Texas Higher Education Coordinating Board (THECB). Duties and responsibilities of the President are outlined in the Regents' Rules and Regulations (2) and in the position description for the recent Presidential search (3). The President reports directly to the Vice Chancellor for Health Affairs and has access to the Chancellor and the Board of Regents (4).
